Domain Default User profile

I recently renamed the Domain Default User profile to help with a problem where I needed the machine local default user profile to be used instead. Since then we have developed several problems which all seem to relate back to the user variable setting of the user Temporary Internet Files folder which normally is set to the %userprofile%/local settings/Temporary Internet Files however now for all new users on all pcs, this setting is now C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files which by default does not have write permission. Thus the problem. I can fudge the fix on a per machine basis by modifying the folder permissions however I am trying to get the Domain Default User profile back in order.

I had started by renaming the Domain Default User profile back back to it's original state, the contents had not changed and the folder was never moved out of NETLOGON so permissions shouldn't have changed. I have tried loading the profile in the registry and looking at the Shell Folders and User Shell Folders settings and although there was a slight descrepency, there didn't appear to be anything that would cause this issue.

To add a final bit of spice, the Security tab does not appear when on the local machine, or using a UNC path from an XP machine or a 2003 box. It is fine and only accessible from a 2k server or workstation.

To top things off, the original reason for needing the local default profile no longer exists =0(

Just how many of you are there cocking this thing up ?

Just rephrase the whole thing in simple English without pretending to be a computer nerd /geek and it may well be understood.

Not so much a cock up really, but we have now developed a problem as a result. "I" needed to do it as part of a build and "We" as in the company have developed several problems. It's pretty straight forward really.

Not really pretending to be anything, was trying to give as much information as possible which I always find helpful when trying to help people with problems. Seeings how you have a problem understanding the simple English explanation, I'll give you the simple simple English version:

In which case just say I don't know and go play WoW.

I would suggest that you have started out completely on the wrong foot on this forum. For a start, how are we who have been raised on ENGLISH supposed to know what a silly word like yello is suposed to mean? I don't think that as a newcomer on the forum, you are in a position to dictate who can or who cannot come onto the forum. I can't help with your problem, but you are much more likely to get help if you calm down, and don't insult those who do not understand your form of slang.

You obviously missed the 1st reply which was hardly friendly in tone, was insulting and unhelpful. As someone new to the forums, that set the tone straight away; hardly friendly for newcomers I'd say. He could have easily replied by asking to clarify, but instead was sarcastic and rude. For some reason, everyone is infatuated with the way I say hello. It doesn't even take an idiot to figure out what it means....If I saw a post in Russian I could assume safely that the very first word at the top in that format would be an introduction of some sort.

The lacking in common sense, general courtesy and knowledge between the pair of you makes my jive slang introduction issue completely insignificant. What on earth has the way in which I say hello got to do with the problem. Focus on the technical problem and not the fact I said yello instead of hello. Is this a Window forum or lessons in English?

Thankfully and no thanks whatsoever to this waste of a time, corresponding with 2 people more interested in covering up their own lack of knowledge by attempting to poke at miniscule details of local diction, I have now resolved the problem.

I know I can't dictate who comes on the forums, it's a shame it really is. But then again, I wasn't dictating, I was giving advice. There's a difference.

Something you'd know if you were properly raised on English.
