homecomputeraid
If your computer has been infected with a Bot, you could unknowingly play a role in a Denial of Service attack when the Bot Master or Bot Herder that "owns" your machine attacks someone. Trend Micro has a free utility called RUBotted that checks for Bot infections and warns you if you have one. It's a small utility available here:http://housecall.trendmicro.com/There's an icon for RUBotted Beta in the lower right of the page. homecomputeraid
Andsome,I don't think it is a substitute for other malware detection software. It's a small program like SpywareGuard:http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html which runs in the background and lets you know if you're infected with something.I haven't had any warnings from it so far, but I'm pretty careful.
