Hi.

I can't see my hidden files, even when I choose "Show hidden files and folders" the tick is changed. Beside that when I open my C, or D, it is opened to the new window or sometimes is opened a new window where is told with what program to open. The computer works slow...... I use Kaspersky Anivirus but is doesn,t help me. What can I do.

1 Use System Restore (All Programs> Acessories> System Tools> System Restore) to change your computer's state to what it was before this problem began. Look at the calendar that comes up and select a restore point that is before these problems started.

2 Connect to the internet and run an on-line anti-virus scanner like ESET (http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/) If it finds any viruses, carefully follow the instructions they give to clean your machine.

Hi,

Recently virus programmers are becoming smart. A worm w32.USBWorm which attacked and banned Orkut, has left one more problem.

(Here are the steps to remove w32.USBWorm). You will not be able to see the hidden files. Even if you change the setting in the folder options, it will not show the hidden files.

So here are the steps to remove that problem and make the hidden files appear as before.

1. Go to Start --> Run, then type Regedit

2. Navigate to the registry folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

3. Find a key called CheckedValue.

4. Double Click CheckedValue key and modify it to 1. This is to show all the hidden files.

Now you should be able to view all the hidden files, and also to alter its status from folder options. :flowers:
