zaq Posted October 8, 2008 Report Share Posted October 8, 2008 Hi all.I have just buided a new computer and with that to follow i also bought a new harddisk (used) - it had Windows XP Pro on it - So i formatet it becuase the person i bought it from was a friend of mine and he wantet me to because of personal stuff and such. At the time i formatet it i could not finde my Windows XP CD so i used my windows 98 - so it was a FAT32 format (I THINK :S ??)Well, there was a error in the installation and finnaly i found my windows xp CD's. I puttet it in and it said "MISSING FILE: NFLDR"I have NO idea what to do about this. I have tryed to do a floppy disk with some files ( followd a guide, was useless)What do i do now? i have WinXP CD's and i have a harddisk for FAT32 with the note "Missing file: NFLDR" .. What to do? Alan2273 Posted October 8, 2008 Report Share Posted October 8, 2008 you can use GParted from a Knoppix, Ubuntu or Linux Mint live Cd.Set your computer to boot from CD in the BIOS, put the live CD in from the menu select GParted, it will show your drive, right click on that drive and from the drop down box click on NTFS, that will format your drive and allow you to install XP.If you use Linux Mint it is in the Control centre under Partition Editor.
