catgate
All the tokens still in circulation are still being used but are worth slightly less (say 90p =£1)What would happen if the government issued new notes of a different style and design that were worth 100p and all the now current notes would ceased to be legal tende from that point. All goods would be reduced to previous prices by reducing VAT. Old style notes currently in circulation could be changed for new style at Post Offices or other suitable places.Since everyone with any savings, in any place, would have, or could get, an accurate record of that money, the government would issue each saver new style notes to the value of that record and the saver would be free to do as he wished with them. This would leave the loss to be covered by its instigators. Is it too late now?
