shokan
I want to completely overwrite W2K on a laptop that has had the logon lost. I have the full XP disk. Can I do the full XP install? I do not want to retrieve/reset the old W2K password, just do a new XP install. How?Thanks.

shokan
Just read this excellent guide :)http://www.simplyguides.net/guides/xp_home...all_part1.shtmlThanks. My new CD-ROM is where the floppy drive used to be (can't put anywhere else) and I get a Fixed Optical Drive Not Found message on a black screen. This was after I entered the admin PW I enabled in the BIOS.
