No sound after going from Vista to 2003

Recommended Posts

Hey there.

After wading through the internet for a fix that works, I thought it better to just ask for help myself.

I have Vista running perfect with sound and its Sigmatel Hi-Def whatnot.

But after installing 2003 onto a separate partition, and booting that, there is no noise.

Vista still has sound fine, but 2003 does not.

Assuming it was a simple compatibility error that could be fixed with a patch or drivers, I looked on the net, to no prevail.

Please help. No Volume bar or anything, and Windows shows ''Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio'' in Device Manager as broken; more specifically

Device Status

''Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.''

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, my first post, so um, hello world.

Uninstall the driver with the yellow mark, then use http://www.drivermax.com/ to get information on exactly what your audio device is. Unfortunately DriverMax does not have drivers for 2003, but with the correct identification you will be able to find the proper driver somewhere.

P.S. and yes, I am in Tokyo.
