Windows Xp Home

Not sure what causes this !

e-Machines 550 (Freeserve Anytime Dial up)

Windows XP Home

ECS L4S5MG mobo

SiS 650 chipset

Award BIOS V.6.00 PG

Whenever it disconnects from the net - the phone rings and the message "you have not been charged for this call" is there when you answer it.

The PC also turns on by itself whenever the phone rings - even if its not in a "Hibernate" state.

I've looked through the BIOS settings and can't find anything under Power Management about "Wake on ......".

Doesn't seem to be anything in Control Panel ?

I don't run XP myself, so I'm baffled.

Any ideas ????

You should find this in the device properties in device manager.

Couldn't seem to find anything there at all about it - its a Connexant SoftModem ? (from my memory).

I'll look again when I go back over there (next weekend)

Thanks
