that link doesnt really help, when i put in the cd it wont let me click the install xp button, when i restart my computer with the cd in and just starts up normally, doesnt put an install screen up

I'm not exactly sure what you mean ?

Have you gone into the BIOS and changed the boot order so that you boot from the CD/DVD drive rather than the hard drive ?

how would i do that? i thin i used to know but now i dont

reboot your computer

the first thing that will come up is the BIOS

you will prompt to press a key to enter BIOS set up (sometimes it just says 'setup' depends on your computer)

usually its an F key (in my Dell its F12) or the Delete key

once inside the BIOS setting you should look for something like 'boot device priority' (again its BIOS names it differntly) and make CD the first boot device

restart the computer and it will boot from the CD
