Holy CRAP. *MAJOR, CRITICAL error when booting up windows*

Whenever I start Windows I'm welcomed by the following:

"We apologize for the inconvience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware of softwawre chnage might have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last KNown Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

Ifa previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the Power or Recent button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows Normally.

First. I didn't install anything.

Second. I woke up from sleeping and it was at this screen.

Third. When I choice ANY option from that list, it takes me RIGHT back to this screeen.

....Any help?

Do you get a blue screen (BSOD) in between? If so, what is the error number on there? Any module name (under the error number)?

Nope. Just boot up windows and it's this black screen with white font

But when you select, say, Safe Mode, doesn't it start, then terminate with a BSOD?

no when i restart it goes to the windows lading screen, then back to black screen

Also I don't have a windows install disk, and have bothered to have a 'backup' of my windows sstem.

You have put yourself in a very difficult situation; you don't have a Windows install disk, so you can't reinstall or even repair Windows. You also can't use the Recovery Console without the Windows disk. You don't have a backup, so you can't restore your working system.

On top of all that, we don't know what the error is.

What I would do if I were in your situation is look around for a startup disk that would allow you to start the Recovery Console. Then poke around if you can find any indication what could possibly be wrong.

No, you won't lose anything unless you reformat your HD / partition.

If you use "Sleep" and "Hibernate" this problem can occur after a while, it's best to use "Sleep" and normal "Shutdown" as the memory doesn't get plugged up with everything all at once.
