IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I'm running Win XP Pro.

I got this dreaded blue-screen stop message. Tried a repair-install but still got it.

I realize that this error message can mean many things. Here's my question: I am able to boot in safe mode. Does that narrow the indications of what the problem might be? My next step is going to be a clean re-install of the OS.

Thanks.

I think the specialists on here could do with a bit more info before they can help. So to save them a bit of time I'll ask some of the more obvious questions. what application were you running when this happened. Can you post details of the error message? Do you have a back-up of your system. Have you tried doing a restore.

Good luck.

Or error code

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (=0x0000000A) is the error code.

Is there a module name under the error code? That would indicate what is causing the BSOD (and what device driver might need an update).
