Where oh where has my wireless gone?

Laptop had to have Windows XP Professional reloaded but now have gone wireless and am having to use a wireless adapter as can't find any wireless options. Loaded minimum of drivers due to previous problems with crazy procesing so if it's a case of drivers are not loaded how do I identify what needs drivers loading to restore wireless capability. Looked in Control Panel/Sytem/Hardware/Device Manager but nothing there seems to relate to wireless.

P.S. it's a reasonably old laptop but it did have wireless before - honest!

It may not be any of them ?

Does yours have Via chipsets and an AMD processor ? Is it about 5-6 years old ?

I think I've just located the user manual at

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2VPC39EO

- it has 175 pages (12MB .pdf)

Download it and see if it is the same as what you have ?

BTW - There should from what I can establish not have been a driver CD originally, just a set of 3 CDs to restore the O/S from a hidden partition on the HD ?
