kaithu Posted December 26, 2008 Report Share Posted December 26, 2008 Hi, The date on my computer with Windows XP Home edition is reset to the year when the computer was first used and January 1 two or three times a year for no obvious reason. What could cause that? I can't pin it on any application program and nothing else seems to happen. No errors in the log. Any thoughts? When the CMOS (sorry said system) battery starts to go all sorts of funny things start to happen. 5 years is a good life they're quite cheap ~2-3£.
