Scorpio Posted December 28, 2008 Report Share Posted December 28, 2008 I tried to change the Hard Drive icon in the Windows Explorer properties/folder options/file types etc. When you open My Computer (double click ofc) you see My Documents, Hard Drives, DVD/CD Roms etc. When i changed the icon to some .ico file. The icon did not change (no idea why it works on any other file but nevermind that) but instead when double clicked (i always double click My Computer, then hard drive, etc, all opens in same window, i'm using Windows Explorer) it opened in my ACDSee... So i changed the icon file to default (again in Windows Explorer properties/folder options/file types etc.). When i went again to explorer properties/folder options/file types i only saw 2 commands on the Hard Drive "file type": "find" and "Browse with ACDSee". So i thought i'd add "open" and "explore" to it (i chose explorer.exe as the application for those commands) and i made "open" the default one. Now when i double click my My Computer then my Hard Drive it opens in a new window! It always opened in the same window (i got this option in my XP on; i always open folders in the same window in my Windows Explorer). I cannot delete the entries i made [open (marked default), explore]. I know this is silly but i need help! I'd post screenshots but my WinXP is not English... So my problem is that everything opens in the same window except the Hard Drive (i just tried to change the icon file). When i doubleclick my Hard Drive in Windows Explorer it always opens in new window. Please help! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
