Tried downloading ie7 again but get the unable to display window. None of my programmes will update and some won't even install. ie; Kaspersky AVP.Have run Adaware and Spyware NukerXT but they can't find anything. Had to uninstall AVG as that was playing up and wouldn't update. It seems like a bug somewhere but what and where I don't know? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In that case I suggest you first uninstall IE7 using Add/Remove programs & your computer will revert to IE6 automatically. Then do a deep scan of your computer using a reliable On-line anti-virus scanner such as ESET/NOD32 (HERE). That may take sometime to run & when it's finished follow their advice. But I installed http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php from this site and it managed to find and get rid of 48 infections. Did the scan in safe mode and it took a couple of hours but it seems to have cleared everything. I just need to do a windows repair to make sure everything is ship shape. Then go to START/Run, and type sfc /scannow. Leave a space after the sfc. Then click OK. This will check the system files and hopefully correct any missing or corrupt ones. There are other things to try after this operation. So I get error messages that RDR device not loading along with Computer Browser. Don't know whether is related to Internet protocol TCP/IP being corrupted but have run the scannow and MTR, Windows repair and Windows updates and SP3 but these haven't resolved the problem. How do you run it?If you look in services in control panel, it's the last item on the list. A number of programmes need this to run, ie: Computer browser, RDR device (whatever that is). On checking in events, applications, the errors show what hasn't started owing to workstation not started. So far I've not come across a serious holdup.
