win32.Zafi.b Virus

Hi.

I'm have trouble removing this virus.

I've done a full scan with Mcafee and it detectes and quartines the virus, but hen I eboot my system (winXP) the virus eturns. I keep getting a windows firewall warning screen sying that the win32 zafi b virus is still on my system. I then do another scan with McAfee, and the virus has retured.

I have seached google for help, but nothing worth trying. Has anybody else had problems with this? and what was the correct removing procedure.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Double click the downloaded file to install the application on your computer.

Once the application is installed, double click on the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware icon to start the program.

Go to the Update Tab and update the definitions.

After updating, select the Scan Tab and initially do a Quick Scan

When the scan has finished the application will guide you through the remaining steps to delete whatever problems it finds,

The best program I've found for Win.32 viruses is actually Microsoft's MRT. It's found in system32 folder under, MRT if you type that on the keyboard. But it takes a heck of a long time to do a full scan and a quick scan is quite useless if the virus isn't located in a usual virus place.

Make sure that you are up-to-date with Windows updates, as MRT is usually updated every month on "patch Tuesday".
