ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Have you checked your startup items?Have you defragmented your HD or partition after installing/I personally noticed that startup and running of Windows XP was noticeably faster after installing SP3. Dencandy
Yes, most people find some sort of improvement after installing XP SP3, but sometimes certain programs or devices work differently after installing it. Have you tried checking the Sony website or support group for that device, as others may have a fix for the problem? If what Pat Willener suggests doesn't help I believe some people with similar problems have found an improvement by uninstalling the device, shut down and restart, then install it again. But I don't know if that'll work for your problem. If none of this helps & you want to go ahead and uninstall SP3 the official MS guide is HOW TO UNINSTALL XP SP3.
