trapweed
I just got a new camera that takes stills and short movies. I can download the move to my computer, but the camera automatically encodes it in MPEG format. Is there any video editing software that will let me edit a MPEG or that will convert it to a format I can edit? Any recommendations for something that's free or low-cost? Since I'm just starting out, I don't want to spend a lot of cash right away. Thanks!

catgate
Firefox has a built in converter that looks to me as though it should work on files already downloaded. I know it works very well with file that are downloaded through Firefox and then subsequently converted.
