Duc Posted February 2, 2009 Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 Hello all. I am having a little issue with my Windows reading my internal hard drives. It just started couple of days ago when Windows acted funny. Norton antivirus wouldn't load up, cannot read my hard drives and lost my internet connection. I have tried rebooting, ipconfig cmd line, etc.... My finally solution was to reinstall a fresh OS. I got everything back except my hard drives error message. The only time Windows can read it is if I right click and select 'explore.' I am able to read my C drive, but any other drives I cannot not. Also, my other drives are connected to a pci controller card.When I double click on it, windows gives me an error message. I can only read the hard drive if I right click and select explore.hardware/software installed:Windows XP SP3buffalo pci controller card ata/133Western digital hard drivesIf you need more info. The orignal card driver was located under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers under device manager. It had a generic driver's name that Windows chose. The card was a SIIG. I figure there was something wrong with this card so I purchased another one.Now, the new buffalo card driver is under SCSI/RAID controllers under device manager.
