Not so merry go round

My son informed me that when he was using the pc it automaically rebooted itself and went in to a reboot cycle. I managed at one point to get it into safe mode and tried using antivirus progs but could only get Adaware to run and it found 5 Virtumond viruses. After restarting again the computer just went into restart cycle and I couldn't even get it into safe mode.

I tried restarting from the second drive but again no go. I tried doing an XP repair to windows and again no go. The only things I can think of doing next is removing the battery from the motherboard, disconnect the current 2 drives and try a third or reinstall Windows from scratch. Unless somebody has any further suggestions. :uhm:

You could try starting up from a live CD (Knoppix etc). That would help to determine if the problem is hardware or software, and it would also maybe let you inspect a few files.(config.sys autoexec.bat or their more up to date counterparts)
