Windows 2000 and Zonealarm

I have to tirn off Zonealarm to access the internet wth IE or Firefox in Windows 2000

Is this another Windows/ ZA conflict as we had last year?

Any ideas please

For Win 2000 you need to have a version prior to ZoneAlarm 8.

I guess ZA will have to pursue it's best interests.

Just wondered if anyW2k user had my problem and found an answer?

Having to rely on My ISP's firewall for now.

Maybe there is something for W2k users such as Outpost if they are dropped by ZA?

When I ask around "why change to Xp" I hear from Xp users, it is only W2k with bells and whistles and a much heavier footprint??

What is the view on this forum?

All was fine one day not the next. Maybe 7days ago now. Nothing new loaded except maybe an auto Windows update.

Thought it was line or modem until I remembered last year's conflict and disabled ZA relying on ISP's Firewall.

That cured it, so assume it's ZA or ZA reacting to Windows again----or?????

Can you find out what Windows updates you installed 7 days ago?

Then, can you remove each of them, one-by-one, to find out which one is causing the problem?

You could also check the ZA forum to see if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.
