Panarchy Posted February 19, 2009 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 HiI've created a Shared folder on one Virtual Machine. On another (clone) virtual machine, I access that shared folder. When double clicking the .exe on the Original (not clone, the one I created the Shared Folder on), I have no trouble in installing the program.However, when opening it off of the other (Cloned) virtual machine, I get the following error;Both machines are running Windows XP Professional SP3, with .Net Framework installed, as they are perfect clones, (apart from the computer name). They are both part of the same Workgroup.Please tell me how to fix this error.Thanks in advance,PanarchyBTW: In case you were wondering, the program I am trying to install (and double click) is QTaddressBar. I know that I can easily copy the file directly from 1 virtual machine to another using the program, VMware Workstation 6.5.1. However, the main reason I want to solve this error, is in case it happens when I am doing something important, that needs fully error free Windows [sMB] Shares. I have been using Microsoft's Virtual PC ever since. (Virtual PC's problem is that it is very difficult to install non-Windows operating systems.) What I am saying is that I had very strange errors under VMware that did not occur on native Windows. The best for you is to try it on a similar setup with native Windows.Of course, a Google search for the error will also tell you if anyone else has experienced it.
