A little more clarity might help.

Microphones are supposed to take in sound and speakers are supposed to push it out. I have not heard of a speaker taking in sound., and yet this seems to me as though that is what you are wanting to do.

But then again ....what do I know about straight bananas.

With the previous Windows XP, I could record the sound played at my pc with soundforge by making some switches to the audio menu at the rdown-right corner. There were options:

1) do you want to record with the mic?

2) do you want to record from the system? (or something like that, I don't remember)

And by clicking some boxes I could switch from recording with the mic to recording the audio played at my pc. For example, I could record a sample of a track played with media player by clicking record at soundforge.

Now with Windows Vista, the audio menu is different and do not know what switches to make!
