When I play a movie or video the player I am using (wmp, quicktime, real player) goes directly into full screen and there is no way to control it via mouse or keyboard. I did not have this problem until I updated windows, now even though I reverted back to period prior to update, it still does it.

Any help will be appreciated

Is it possible that your update caused the default mode of these players to be changed to full screen, and, even though you have removed the update, the settings of something need to be altered back?

Speaking out of my customery ignorance I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling these players.
