xenon Posted March 28, 2009 Report Share Posted March 28, 2009 Hi peers,i have a problem i build a new pc but i used my old grafic card(ati raedon)motherboard(asus)after i was finished pluggin all the cables i started the Pc and there where no display and the grafic card didn't run(the actif cooler ventilator didn't turn)now i want to know if its a problem i didnt plug the right cable for pci express alimentation or if it could be another problem(the graficcard is good inserted into the slot!) now i am downloading the driver for the graficcard but how can i install it with no screensignal if that could resolve the problem i think i made something wrong by building up my motherboard! please HELP me i want this case to run properly! Alan2273 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Share Posted March 28, 2009 Two things to check, have you plugged the 4 pin processor plug in, as it will not run without it, also does your graphics card require any extra power, ie does it also need extra power besides drawing it from the PCi-E slot. Alan2273 Posted March 29, 2009 Report Share Posted March 29, 2009 The PCI-E Graphics plug is generally six pins, the eight pin is for high power motherboards and is to power the processor, or am I misunderstanding what you are saying?.The PCI-E plug will have PCI-E printed on it.
