windows explorer 8

Recommended Posts

:( I am really struggling with my pc right now. I have windows vista home premium and its giving me issues with downloading windows live messenger (any version). It wont let me complete the download. what i am wondering is will the new internet explorer 8 possibly help with this problem or will it just make things worse??? I would really like to solve the issue with my windows live messenger because i use it to talk to my family who lives in another state. Right now i have no WLM at all because i was told to uninstal it and now since I have done this I am unable to reinstall it. Please if you know if the new IE will help or what will I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Welcome to the Windows Forum.

From where are you downloading WLM? If it doesn't let you complete the download, then it may very well be the download server that has problems.

Try to download it from here, and let us know if it succeeds.

P.S. I don't think that IE8 will do any better if the download server causes the problem; you may not even be able to download IE8.

Thanks for replying back. I am downloading WLM from the site you sent me to and from www.downloadive.com as well. I was sent there to try that site.

Ok I tried to downloaded WLM and when installing it i get this error now: "There was a problem with this installation. Windows Live Suite was not installed. system error details... Code: 0x8000fff description: catastrophic failure. "

Now this is a new error so im even more lost than I was before.

Various Clues here

thank you for sending me to that site to fix my issues. Although it didnt fix my issues the REG Cure found over 700 problems on my pc. right now i am unable to purchase the program to fix these issues because I am disabled and cant work. I hope some day to be able to purchase it so i can fix whats going on. I was at least ablet to download the installer from the page you sent me to. That is alot farther than i was getting but i still got an error dealing with windows live call and microsoft visual studio runtime.

However, I wa sitting here thinking.. what haven't I done or what could be running when im trying to downlaod...then it came to me...i shut off my virus scanner and my spyware and low and behold....... WAAALLAAA.. WLM downloaded for me and is now up and running. Now I just have to wait till a friend comes online or messages me to see if i can see their replies back ...which is what started this whole mess to begin with. I wasnt able to see the replies of people when we were talking in a IM. Hopefully this will work.

TY TY TY though for this site. I will keep it in my favorites in case i ever have any more troubles. I guess from now on if i want to update something I have to shut everything down that I have. As for that REG Cure i hope to one day be able to buy it so I can fix those 700 + errors it found and get my pc up and running better again..

Thanks once again.

When I did a google for REG Cure I got allot of warnings from my sight advisor, and a short read of a forum makes me think it could be a scam sight, try http://www.ccleaner.com/ it is free and used by allot of the members on here, it will clean up your computer and there is a registry cleaner, I would not change the default settings unless you know what you are doing, also if you use sights regularly there is an option to save your cookies.
