Does your BIOS allow booting from USB?When you write "can't install Windows", can you be a little more specific what the word "can't" means? What am I doing wrong? :0I to have an older computer running windows XP, i had a 500GB HD plus SATA drivers WXP did not see the disk infact it defaulted to 131GB Windows default GAVE UP AND PUT 300GB in it was ok with that.There was no problem with Vista but i didn't want to run this on the older computerI could have put it on two partitions couldn't be bothered. Tizzyloucat Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 6, 2009 Sorry for the delayed response...My Dad finally managed to make it work. He disengaged all drives on the computer but the SATA (internal) and loaded the windows disk in a SATA dvd and it worked. He may have done some other things that he doesn't remember...we both have memory problems more often than we used to. At any rate it is working.
