Computer resolution problem

Recommended Posts

My friend has an HP Pavilion, and a Norcent 20' widescreen monitor/HDTV.

The computer has an Nvidia Geforce 7600GS that is manually installed.

SO the problem is, one day he turned on his computer and the resolution seemed fuzzy and he decided to mess around with the resolution and accidentally changed the resolution to something his monitor did not support. Because of this, everytime he turns on the monitor it gives him an error saying "Not supported". The problem is he can get into safe mode but from there can't change the resolution, and also it doesn't give him an option to load from "last known good configuration".

i would greatly appreciate a reponse, THANKS!

On that Safe Mode screen there should be an option to boot Windows with the name of your operating system (XP, Vista). Tell your friend to select that option and after a few moments you should get the option to continue or to select a Restore Point. So choose Select a Restore Point, then, when the calendar comes up, select a date before this horrible thing happened. This should restore your friend's computer to a stable state.
