custom xp boot disc

Recommended Posts

Hey can someone please give me a walkthrough for creating my own boot disc for windows xp pro? I have a boot disc from MS but its like 4 years old at least, and if i have to wipe i really dont want to have to go through all the updates again. Also, is there a way i can tailor it so it installs my programs too, or at least some of the important ones? i'm using WinXP Pro SP3 and my burning software is nero 7.8, but if you know of any freewares or other software, i'll try pretty much anything. Preferably, the simpler the better. i have no experience writing bat files or anything like that, so unless you can explain it well, lets just skip those.

thanks in advance

You need a mirror image. Install ACRONIS, and make a mirror image. At the same time you can create a boot disk. If any problems occur in future, use the boot disk. It will enable you to select a particular image and then it will delete the whole operating system and reinstall to the point chosen. If you register as a subscriber there is a discount available from the link at the top of the page. There are also free utilities available, but I have found Acronis to be well worth every penny. :D
