I am going to assume that you know that gpedit only works on XP Pro.

You can restore gpedit.msc from the XP install cd from within the recovery console.

Boot from the CD-ROM, run Recovery Console, and enter this command:

expand D:\i386\gpedit.ms_ c:\windows\system32

If your CD-ROM drive isn't D:, substitute the appropriate drive.

If that does not work have a read here.

thanks Alan for explain that...

sory i don't explain the real problem, the real problem is :

say i'm an windows XP admin in XYZ company, i'm disable all windows tool for changing windows setting in all employee PC, like gpedit tool, let's say i'm allready disable all the method to access the gpedit, in the next day i need to use gpedit to set a new policy to a employee PC, but i'm an admin user can't open gpedit too, what must i do then?

i want to disable gpedit tool for employee not for me (admin), but in this case i'm (admin) is blocked too by gpedit setting...

Alan u'r recommendation is right, but it too complicated for my case i think...

can u or anyone help me to solve this case?

thanks...

If this is a hypothetical case, then I would just recommend not to do it: don't disable gpedit for the Administrator user.

If this is a practical case, i.e. you have really done it, then I would recommend to restore your system to a state before you did it.
