Piers man Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 Alright, I recently formatted my hard drive and things have been running smoothly. But to my dismay, my internet suddenly stopped working and left me wondering as to why. I have a line going to my computer from a router, I have tested the line and it keeps coming through fine. Perhaps it is a software issue or it could be that my mother board has gone wonky. I hope not....What might be causing this issue? And what can I do to start diagnosing this? Dencandy Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 The standard method is to first check all the physical conections (take the little plugs out of the sockets, clean them, etc, replace into sockets); then check the cables (e.g. by replacing with another one that is known to work); finally check the hardware item by item. It leads you step-by-step through the troubleshooter, and it has helped me in the past to find what caused network problems on my home network.
