DOS print -> USB printer

Hi,

my situation. I have notebook Win XP home ed., local connected USB printer OKI, old MS DOS SW, Id like print to DOS LPT2 port. It was OK before reinstalation Windows. Guest user is enable, my account is local administrator, no physical LPT port(s) is available.

port mapping:

net use LPT2 \\10.140.80.102\oki

and net use status

OK LPT2 \\10.140.80.102\oki Síť Microsoft Windows

now if I try to print something:

start

cmd

c:\copy autoexec.bat LPT2

access has been denied

I think it something wrong in user rights setting. But in winXP home is not available security or user management,

I may have not understood your question. However I have had experience of old ASCII printers not working with later versions of Windows,

There is a a variety of applications to let you get round this and a quick google of "dosprint" will reveal many of them, some of them free.

I was OK before reinstall system. Now is everithing same, system, scripts, printer, notebook but not so same - something is wrong...

Does the printer have the proper driver(s) installed?

Is the printer visible on 'My Computer'?

Can you print a test page from Printer Setup?

Is the printer properly shared?
