Renaming a windows program

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if it is possible to rename an application, the name being the program name on the top right, e.g. if you open notepad, that name is "Untitled - Notepad", this changes as you save it as a different name.

But for applications/programs that usually have a fixed name, is it possible to rename it?

Thanks

For stuff like MSN you can usually get an addon to do that for you. You may be able to download something for other programs but I think, although I'm not too sure, that it's registry editing to change an application name.

I don't know though.

It is not the application that shows as 'Untitled', but the file name that is used with Notepad. If there is no file open, it shows 'Untitled'. If you open an existing file, it will show that file name. If you save a new file, it will show that new file name.

Of course you can change the name of the Notepad application if you wish, but what's the point of it?
