kiddd_ Posted July 8, 2009 Report Share Posted July 8, 2009 Hi.I have a AA1 laptop model no.ZG5 (AOA150) . Windows couldn't recognise the laptop's battery so I knew I had to update Bios in order to get the job done ( I did it before , so there was no doubt about what was necessary to do ) . I found the steps which i needed to follow on more than one website . Here you have them : 1. Insert your USB drive/thumb drive into a working windows system. Open up my computer or computer and locate your usb drive and right click and select format. Format the drive with ‘FAT’ file system and not FAT32 minimum 256 MB in capacity.2. Download the attached zip file AS1_BIOS_3309.ZIP3. Extract the files on the root directory of the USB Flash Drive.4. Turn off the Aspire One and make sure that both power adapter and battery are connected to the netbook.5. Plug in the USB stick to any port on the failed Aspire One6. Press and hold Fn+ESC and then press the power button. The power LED will now be blinking.7. Press the power button ONCE. During this time, it will now initiate the BIOS update, DO NOT INTERRUPT IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.8. After about 2 minutes, the power LED will stop blinking and the Aspire One will reboot. The BIOS is now complete.9. IF the unit DID NOT REBOOT BY ITSELF, wait a further 5 – 7 minutes before rebooting the unit as the BIOS may still be flashing. I've made a mistake though : I pressed Fn+Esc and then the power button , the power LED did start blinking BUT instead of pressing after that the power button ONCE more i pressed it TWO times , because i thought no activity was going on.Now the laptop won't ever boot.it's DEAD.PLEASE !!! what to do ?? I had various attempts more after that.nothing.dead.Do you belive that by opening it up and handling the RTC battery or a bios jumper might be a soltion ? or should I try something else instead ? The thing is that the laptop is dead.It will not start.So i cannot follow the steps anymore , by pressing Fn+Esc and the power button , the laptop does nothing.Any other ideea ? kiddd_ Posted July 8, 2009 Author Report Share Posted July 8, 2009 There is now a later 3310 BIOS version (see attached)Download link :-http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BI...mp;Step2=Aspire One&Step3=AOA150&OS=X01&LC=en&SC=PA_7Yes , 3310 it's the Bios version I ran in the first place(had 3305 , used 3310 to update).But this is not the problem.This issue isn't about the Bios version I used or i had , it's about the procedure I used and about the mistake and damage I've caused.Even if I try again to use a USB stick in order to 're-update' bios will not to any good.the laptop it's dead , it won't to anything at all.The power button doesn't do anything and no other LED works . Only the power LED brightens for a second when I connect AC adaptador, but that doesn't mean anything does it ? I really really need to get the system on running and solve this out..What CAN I do ?
