stevkaprel
After learning about Skydrive, an online file storage service within Windows Live, I uploaded a ton of media files which involved much time and effort. Not long afterwards, I signed on to Skydrive and discovered virtually all of the uploaded files were no longer there.I intitiated an email correspondence with Windows support which was inconclusive and then became lost in the woods(although I was told if your account is inactive for ninety days your files would be deleted, which did not apply in my case).I found Skydrive useful and easy to use. I'd like to go back to it but am leary of the same thing happening.Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?
-pops-
Knowing that a number of these on-line file storage firms disappeared without trace some years ago (their clients files disappearing as well) I wouldn't even trust my shopping list with one of these concerns, MS owned or not.You have been told that files are deleted after 90 days of inactivity - what use is that for archive files? To have them disappear with any excuse at all is just not acceptable but, I suppose you will have to.Any files of any importance at all are copied on an ongoing basis using 2nd copy to a separate hard drive and I keep regular updated clones of my drives both the "C" drive and any drives I use for files I wish to keep.
