Open the context menu3. Cut a file4. Copy a file5. Open a file (even a .txt in notepad)6. Delete a fileI use Windows XP Pro SP3 in an office. Dencandy Posted August 5, 2009 Report Share Posted August 5, 2009 Other possible causes for these problems are:1 You have a vast amount of files on the disk. Have you tried using the Indexing Sevice to increase file access speed?2 The problem might be faulty RAM card(s). You can use the Microsoft Memory Diagnostic utility to check this HERE. I did many things, but I think it went away after I deleted Windows registry references to a decommissioned server after noticing an open network connection to it using the "cports" application.
