ewomack
Hello,I've had a nagging problem for a while now with my Vista box (Vista came with the box, it was not upgraded). Randomly, when the system shuts down, it sits on the "shutting down" screen for a long time. Then it blue screens with a bunch of white text (it comes and goes quickly, so I'm not sure what it says) and restarts. Once it restarts then it shuts down properly, but on reboot I get a "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" message. This probably happens a third of the time I shutdown. Otherwise it shuts down fine. Any ideas?

I'll give it a try...Ok... here's what it says:DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILUREIt also included quite a bit of verbiage about checking for new hardware, etc. I did install a new DVD drive, but I believe this problem predates that.
