aspirin_128
I had a grand new experience between the ADSL connection and activation of the screensaver and monitor. A week ago, I have reinstalled the system with XP Pro. SP3. Afterward, I found that the ADSL connection will be interrupted when the screensaver or the time limit to cut-off the power supply of the monitor come up. The result of the test as below:(No) (Screensaver) (Power supply to monitor) (ADSL connection) 1. Deactivated Activated Interrupted 2. Activated Deactivated Interrupted 3. Activated Activated Interrupted 4. Deactivated Deactivated OK, connectedSuch weirdy I have never hit before, what is the relationship between the ADSL connection and activation status of screensaver or monitor? My ADSL connection is direct from modem to my computer.I'm now only can set both of the screensaver and monitor in deactivated mode in order to avoid of interrupt my downloading, and button off the monitor manually when I leave my desk. Can anyone here do offer other solutions to recover my system back to normal please? Many thanks!
-pops-
Is the modem connected via USB?I've known basic computer processes interfering with USB continuity although not to the same extent as you are experiencing.Try a different USB socket if you can or, better, Ethernet.
