Trying to use Swedish letters as well as English with my keyboard

Hey, I've been trying lately to use the Swedish letters on my English keyboard and can't seem to do it. The letters are more or less the same as the English alphabet but they have them funny circle things and stuff.

The closest I know how to do are the French letters which is just by clicking CTRL + ALT along with the vowel and it shows up as they should.

Does anybody know if Windows has something that helps me to use the Swedish alphabet as well as my usual English or do I need to download and install something?

I'm on Windows XP Professional by the way, if that helps much.

Oh. other things I didn't mention.

I've already thought of downloading a Windows language pack but doesn't the IME require an update which needs a wga check or something?

If so, my XP Pro is a cracked version and I can't update unless I download the verifier first then verify my copy of Windows.

There are various methods to enter characters that are not on your keyboard. Which method to use depends mostly on the frequency you require these characters.

  1. Method 1:
The Input Method Editor (IME) is part of Windows XP (and Vista). It can be added via Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | tab Languages (Text services and input languages). Once activated, switch between input languages using Alt+Shift. I use the IME for Japanese language input.
  2. Method 2:
Use copy and paste from the Character Map, e.g. å, ä, ö.
  3. Method 3:
    Use alternate keyboard input, e.g. Alt+0229 = å, Alt+0228 = ä, Alt+0246 = ö. (The numbers have to be entered on the numeric keypad.)
  4. Method 4:
Use a 3rd-party tool such as Shortkeys Lite. I use this tool myself for French and German characters, or special signs like ¥ or ½.
