Question Regarding Windows Explorer

Recommended Posts

Okay this is a silly question....

Whenever I open the explorer it opens in my documents folder only..the left windows where it suppose to appear like the drives and such its just an empy grey box with an x button to close it. Like this I cannt move files you know like drag and drop cause Im unable to see the other drives..I have clicked everywhere and I dont find the way for the grey box to appear with the drives view and such. Can anyone help? Im sure it must be fix with a click on something..

Thanks!

a way to open Explorer without shortcutting to the My Documents folder is to create a shortcut to the explorer.scf file in the C:\WINNT folder. It opens in the root of the system drive (usually C:), the way it used to.

If your using Win95/98 the open regedit (start and run and type regedit) and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Delete the ExplorerBar value and restart.

Looks like the reg fix works on ME as well. You could also repair IE as Windows Explorer and IE are integrated and IE could be causing

the problem.

To Repair go to add/remove programs highlight Internet

Explorer and click

remove, then click repair.
