how to switch from my vista's built-in wireless adapter to a links

hello;

I have a vista with a built in wireless adapter ( it has a little antennae on the back of the computer ), but because of the computer's location on the second floor of our house, it is not picking up a connection;

however, I have a linksys USB wireless network adapter that has a 12 foot cable that can reach a window, and thus pick up a signal;

so I would like to disable the built-in wireless adapter, and enable my linksys adapter;

any thoughts;

Just use Device Manager to disable the existing wireless card, uninstall its drivers and then remove it from the motherboard (if you like :) ).

Then you can use the USB one in its place.

aha ... simple enough;

but now I think that my 5 year old linksys wireless adapter does not work with vista ... separate problem though, I will search for an answer to that problem;

If it is Wireless G you should be able to find a Vista driver for it ?

What model is it ?
