XP Pro - How to disable Sleep key

Hello everyone. Got a very simple one for you, unless it's impossible. My keyboard has recently started acting up, and every time I press the left arrow key it also activates the sleep key (the one with the little crescent on it). Every time I press the Sleep key, the left arrow key is also activated. The problem is that every time I press left now, the "Turn off computer" dialog pops up. So I'd like to prevent the Sleep key from doing anything.

I know about the registry hack (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer, set NoClose to 1), which solves the problem, but it also disables the power button on my computer and, after a restart, even the "Turn off computer" button on the Start menu vanishes.

So I'm looking for one of two solutions.

(1) A way to disable the Sleep key without messing with the power button or Start menu, or:

(2) A way to run a file automatically when Windows is shut down, like the Startup folder but for shutting down. (That way, I can set up .reg files that enable and disable NoClose upon, respectively, Startup and Shutdown, and since the Start menu is modified only after a restart, if I set NoClose back to 0 before that restart, Windows will start up every time with the "Turn off computer" button enabled. Although the power button still won't work. And I suppose I'd have to press Enter to the dialog that pops up making sure I want to add the reg info, although there's probably a way to disable that too.)

Obviously (1) would be simpler, but (2) is an option, though one I can't find a way to do. Any help would be appreciated!

Er... nevermind. As I suspected, the option is quite easy to get to. Just much easier than I remembered. Control Panel->Power Options->Advanced. Thanks anyway! Mods, delete this topic if possible, it's no longer relevant.

If the problem has not in fact been solved, try uninstalling the software, cleaning up with C Cleaner, and reinstalling. :D
