The terminating event is a crash preceded frequently by a " The task Master has encountered a problem and ... " statement. Similar statements have been "Google Taskbar Installer haes encountere a problem and needs to close" and "MSN Processor" same explanation I have ran exhaustive virus and malware scans with Kaspersky and Malwarebytes.System Overview: Computer Type: Advanced Micro Devices 2833 MHz. Hb_Kai Posted September 22, 2009 Report Share Posted September 22, 2009 You could make a start by updating to SP3.As with this MSNTASK.exe, using the MSN Toolbar with IE 6 just slows it all down - I've read many support pages mentioning this issue in the past. Updating IE will help with that.The Google Taskbar error could lead to being a non-existant problem which is just used by malware. If so, Trend Micro will find it and sort it out for you - HouseCall - Trend Micro is an online virus scanner. Completely safe and recommended by many of the users on this forum.HouseCall - Trend MicroHere are some Microsoft support pages describing the errors.Error Event: 1000 :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/185198Error Event: 1001 :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271213Error Event: 1002 :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891608So really, the majority of it is down to updates containing files that replace some of the DLL's that are currently in your XP SP2 version - some of which will remove the errors. But SP3 is much more reliable than SP2 and the speed is noticeably different. :)If you're having problems, make sure you are able to update every device driver that can be installed on SP3 and your system is clean from virus infections, malware, all that stuff.
