I found that sometimes when I use My Network Place, it will hang there for around 1 minute, then back to normal. It always happen when I haven't used it for a while. If I just used it, then use it again, it's very fast. Does anyone also encounter this?I found all the computers in my house have encounter this, and even the computers in my work. -pops- Posted September 27, 2009 Report Share Posted September 27, 2009 Whilst not specifically on this problem, I have found that delays occur when the hard drive contains a large amount of data and when the drive is fragmented - possibly a combination of both.It would be worth:1. Deleting unnecessary programs and data.2. Removing less obvious clutter with something like Ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ (free).3. Defragmenting the hard drive(s) using the inbuilt Windows program or an independent such as Auslogics http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag - again free. Hb_Kai Posted September 27, 2009 Report Share Posted September 27, 2009 The same thing happens with the My Computer folder - that's a well-known problem and it's probably the same thing.The reason for the My Computer folder doing so is that Windows hangs while trying to search for network folders and printers before displaying anything to you.
