Vladislak Posted September 28, 2009 Report Share Posted September 28, 2009 Okay, so I'm trying to run a program with the compatibility set to Windows XP (Service pack 2), it's not going so well.I was told that it may work if I run the program as an administrator by right-clicking on the application, going to properties, then into the compatibility tab. Then I should see a checkbox for running the program as an administrator.All of this worked perfectly, except I can't check off the box that let's you run it as an administrator, it's grayed out and not available.I don't see why I wouldn't have permission to check it off, I'm the only user of the comp and I should have full privileges...Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. You state "compatibility set to Windows XP (Service pack 2)" suggesting the main O/S is something different. Even so, why aren't you up to date with service pack 3? I'm using Vista. >_>The reason I'm running the program with service pack 2 is because it won't run by default and service pack 2 was recommended to fix the problem.I didn't realize there was a service pack 3 though.
