mikethunder62
Hello All,I have a problem with a internal USB hard drive, that ( has the OS - Windows XP PRO ) will not boot when the external USB hard drive is connected to the USB port on the back of the computer it takes forever for the computer to bootup. When I leave the external USB hard drive unplugged during bootup the computer boots up quickly. It looks like the systems is going to the USB external hard drive first instead of the internal SATA hard drive, which has the OS on it. After it boots up if i plug in the external USB hard drive it will connect, but I don't want to have to pull the plug everytime. How would I fix something like this? I know that SATA does not use the "master and slave" settings. I thought I set the boot order, how do you get to that? (is that one of the "F" buttons?), or is it something in the registery? EQUIPMENT: ** SATA internal DVD-CD burner connected to the motherboard with a SATA connection (NOTE: I have two SATA connections on MB)** SATA internal hard drive connected to the motherboard with a SATA connection (SECOND CONNECTION - I think)** IDE CD-ROM internal PLAYER connected to a IDE connection (not sure if it's set to master or slave)** USB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE (for storage) connected to the back USB port Thanks for any and all help or ideas...
