savak Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share Posted October 26, 2009 HiI'm trying to do a clean install of WIndows Vista on a Dell Inspiron (17 inch screen I think) it goes through the process and hangs at the 'Completing Installation' section. Nothing happens for many hours eg. 4!Tried XP which claims no harddisk is installed!Any ideas?ThanksGraeme Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boris Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share Posted October 26, 2009 I had the same problem 2 weeks ago with a Dell Latitude + Vista Business. XP didn't recognise the hard drive (because it had a SATA H/D ?).Only solution I found was to restore from the hidden Recovery Partition (which luckily was still there) - which took an hour !
