JacsWastedLife
My friend's currently trying to install this on his PC, got it through the student discount malarkey. For some reason though the downloader is currently showing the progress as -1696 MB. It went all the way up, now it seems to be going back down again.Anyone know if this is normal or has something gone wrong here? Thanks to anyone who can help. Hb_Kai
The student discount offers Microsoft offer usually do have some type of fault with them, not sure if it's deliberate or not though.Try contacting Microsoft to see if they can offer a different way? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Can't they deliver it on a DVD? I remember downloading the Windows 7 RC earlier this year; even with my very fast connection it took a few hours to complete!
-pops-
I found the download system for W7 very confusing. There are two ways offered, firstly to download three separate files for subsequent loading on the memory sticks or the like, secondly download an ISO file.As a lot of people have no idea what an ISO is, the first method is chosen and that often results in a cock-up.Downloading the ISO file and burning that to a DVD is the better method of getting your Internet sourced W7. It is bootable and very similar to a purchased disk.Even so, it will most likely take hours to complete.
