But then again thats not too important.Microsoft says a PC has to have 1gig of RAM but have anyone of you running win 7 ultimate on a PC with 1 gig of ram ???Oh and the version Id like to install is 32-bit. cristi
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows...upgrade-advisorThat would be helpful, but I already formatted the HD containing XP Pro and would like to install 7 ultimate but need to know if worth it. -pops-
http://windows.microsoft.com/systemrequirementsW7 is less resource hungry than Vista and from what you state, it should be OK.However, Dell have a reputation of being "non-standard" so it could be that there is something we are not aware of to prevent a successful install. As you have already removed XP, there is nothing to lose by trying W7 in that machine. -pops-
If you have space (spare PCI slots) you could install a standard Ethernet card and also a sound card. Neither of those need be costly.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Are you saying that Windows 7 does not find legacy drivers for your network card? Can you check what network card you have installed? Can you try DriverMax to see if it can find your missing Windows 7 drivers?P.S. use the free version of DriverMax; you don't need to pay to download max. two drivers per day.
