Saving and Printing your IE Favorites

My list of IE Favorites has grown and grown - and is now groaning under the weight of numerous obsolete entries. I therefore decided to indulge in some editing to pare the list down to size.

I had to do some Googling to determine how to print a list of Favorites.....which is...............

Stage 1 - Save list of Favorites

in IE go to File>Import and Export to bring up the wizard

Check "Export to a File" and click next

In the next screen select "Favorites2 and click Next

If you favorites are organised into folders you can now choose all favorites (the top folder) or just a specific sub folder

Now choose where you want to save the file - browse

Click "Export" and the file Bookmark.htm is saved to your chosen location

Stage 2 - Print your list of favorites

Using windows explorer, browse to your saved file - double click to open it

It will open in IE as a page of names with clickable links - addresses are not visible

Go to File>Print and under the options tab check the "Print Table of Links" box - then OK

Click on "Print" button and your printer will provide you with a list of Favorites and their URL

Tip:

I had to set IE to print in landscape mode to get the full information on the page.

In my case it printed 54 pages. (I told you I had got a lot)
